FPS FIX/SAVER FOR FBW A320NX

WHAT THIS MOD DOES.
This mod, alike what I've seen with the Aerosoft CRJ disables
the co-pilots (R/Hand Side) MFD & PFD displays, however
what I have found that in order to get the mod to work properly
you will need to turn BOTH brightness controls all the way anticlockwise - Dunno why this is the case but I have found
the mod appears to NOT work unless you take this step too.

On my system I'd say I have easily gained +10 FPS and the A320nx is comparable performance wise to the CRJ (for me anyway).

INSTALLATION:-
navigate to using explorer:- Community\A32NX\SimObjects\AirPlanes\Asobo_A320_NEO\
once there, I'd suggest taking a COPY first of the panel folder, and rename to something like panel.org (will say why in a sec). NEXT, you extract the panel folder into the directory above, which will take the place of the original panel folder which has just been renamed.

NOTE;-
At present due to the folder name I have presented I can only say that I have succesfully applied to the FBW 320nx MOD and NOT yet have looked at the STOCK Asobo A320.

WHY RENAME COPY FOLDER TO PANEL.ORG?
well this presents a valid reason, in that should you decide that for whatever reason youd like to fly WITH the copilot panels or reverse my MOD then you can take the following step to disable the mod.

HOW DO I DISABLE THE MOD THEN?
Exit the game/sim and navigate again to the directory i mentioned at the start, look for the panel folder. Now rename this to panel.MOD or even something different EG MODPANELNONCOPIL, now rename you're panel.org to read "panel" (all lowercase, without the speachmarks Obviously....)

Now re-start the sim!

Unfortunately, the mod does not work for me.
All displays are dead.
Even working through the checklists several times does not solve the problem.
When I remove the mod, everything works again as usual.
Of course I have followed the installation including a sim restart.
The whole thing with a freshly installed NX with stable version.
Too bad, 10 FPS more I would really like, as probably everyone.

Just to get it right: It is since month it is in the FbW Mod possible, to turn of the screens by scrolling down the brightness, until they turn off. What exactly does your mod else? As I understood the description, the user has to do the same thing, scrolling down the dial to off. Thanks for some explenation 😊

IMHO by now does the same thing but has the display turned off by default. I don't know about the difference in performance. As of 2021-10-05 with A32NX-master this mod caused problems for me (voltage shows 0.0V, no display content at all).

It is known that turning both the brightness controls on the right hand side to zero increases the fps. I do that as a matter of course. Does your mad save MORE fps than just turning down the brightness on the normal A320NX panel?

Works with dev version for me. Definitely not gaining +10 FPS or even +5 but it’s hard to say the true number

Hi, I haven't tried it yet but saving frames is something we all agree on. I wanted to suggest what I do for all files that are switched occasionally such as summer or winter textures with the same name. I use 7zip but any archive will be fine. Zip the original and name it whatever.zip + the word original or orig or default. 2nd Now zip up your file in this instance & name it "right side" or anything you want. then just unzip the the file you want to use(full screen or right side) & overwrite. To reverse unzip & overwrite the other. I find "right click - extract here" much easier than renaming files. Just leave both .zips in the folder with the app. Cheers & thanks !
