A Fictional repaint of a Qantas DC-6B.
Qantas once had DC-4's in their fleet, but not the DC-6. With a lack of DC-4, I made a DC-6 repaint.
To Install...
Open the PMDG Operations center, go to the liveries tab, then livery utilities and in the bottom left corner there is a button to "install from .ptp"
For updates on my repaints and what I have in the works, check my socials which can be found in my profile
Under no circumstance may anyone download this file with the intent to edit, modify or otherwise reference with intent to upload a new repaint and claim it as their own work. I do no give pemission for any texture, part or asset in my liveries to be used in the creation of other liveries.
Might be 'Fictional' For the DC-6 , but it's my go to livery 😊 Thank you!

Nice livery but I have an issue when I zoom out in external mode, the fuselage and wings of the plane vanish, same goes for ground equipment when enabled. So far I have found 2 liveries that are causing this same issue including this one.

No idea what is causing that. haven't had the same issue with any livery.

I cant seem to get the install from PTP to work in my operations center. I even tried running as admin, clicking the button does nothing. Do I have to put the file in a specific place after downloading? All the default liveries fail with some CAB error also, so was looking for a manual way. Love your livery, it looks amazing

is this only happening with this .ptp or any that you have downloaded?
I would go and submit a ticket to pmdg, because I haven't heard anyone else having that issue.

Excellent paintwork on the fictional QANTAS livery. Just flew from Melbourne to Canberra with it. Thank you!

Very nice!! Would LOVE to see a Buffalo Airways livery on this baby. Can that be done? (Based off their DC-4)

There's another interesting old paint of the Qantas DC-4 here: https://www.airhistory.net/photo/131775/VH-EDA. It's authhentic, and almost certainly earlier than the one you have found

Question.. why is the ground power unit texture-less when using this livery?
I'm not sure, I have made a custom texture for the ground equipment, but it seems to not be working. I'm looking into it and trying to get it fixed.

Fabulous job, Matt, as we would expect! As you said, Qantas did not fly the DC-6 - in that era they used custom modified Super Constellations in their fleet for their overseas routes, and TAA (which did fly the DC-6) was their affiliated domestic airline. I've just completed a TAA livery which is now available on this site.

How do I put a .PTP file in community folder?
You dont. You need to open the PMDG Operations center, go to the liveries tab, then livery utilities and in the bottom left corner there is a button to "install from .ptp"

Wonderful Livery. Missing paint on #3 prop. Apparent slight misalignment of L/R texture on the nose.

American or Delta Retro would be too cool. I actually flew on them back in the day and wished I could be the pilot.!

Awesome to see an Aussie livery on this gorgeous bird! It sure looks nice in those old QANTAS colours... Thanks heaps mate! Super appreciated. Hope to see more classic Australian airline liveries soon 😏
My only gripe is that none of the ground service equipment have textures appearing, they're all plain white. (Though I checked the installed folder and there does seem to be a texture file for them.) Other than that, it is a beauty!

I am looking into it, I’m not sure why they’re not showing. I will upload a fix when I figure it out
