Here is something small about the history of HB-IRI:

I haven't found much about the history of HB-IRI, except this: Assembled by Fokker at Schiphol and delivered to Swissair on June 22, 1937 as HB-IRI. The Wright Cyclones fitted to this early DC-3 are easy to identify. Sold 1955. Flew as N2816D then N142D with Ozark Airlines until 1966. By the time it was decommissioned in January 1966, it had clocked up 36,523 flight hours. Written off as such March 1969.

Is this of any use to you? (including external references at the end)? http://www.sr692.com/fleet/12_dc3/index.html
And here are pictures of her during the period that you mentioned https://www.e-pics.ethz.ch/index/ETHBIB.Bildarchiv/index-000937.html
I haven't seen many where she has the band around her rear fuselage, though.

Hello John!
Thanks for your comment and hints. Yes, I know the sites you linked here and also use as a reference. Because of the red/white neutrality band, not the entire DC-3 fleet was photographed. Most of the HB-IRI, HB-IRO and HB-IRA were photographed. The HB-IRA was also used a lot by Federal Councilor Enrico Celio and so there are a bit more pictures of the HB-IRA with the red and white band. Greetings Chbirdy
